Our Commitment to

Equity & Justice

When it comes to DEIJ, our industry still has a long way to go.

At The Outreach Team, we prioritize and celebrate the diversity of our team, and are committed to equity and justice in every facet of our organization. We believe that if we start with ourselves, we can lead the way for everyone else to do better, too. We continually strengthen our policies, procedures, hiring, and culture to reflect these values, and are focused on building a team that reflects and represents the communities we work with.

Our commitment shows up in the following ways:

Dedicated Budget

We try to put our money where our mouth is. We have committed a portion of each campaign’s revenue to our internal Equity & Justice work.

Ongoing Training for Our Staff

We run ongoing trainings weekly, monthly, and annually for new staff on topics such as Cultural Competency, Managing Teams Equitably, and Equity & Justice 101. We also hire outside consultants to run trainings for us on specific Equity & Justice topics.

Working with our clients

We work with amazing clients who are also doing their own DEIJ work. As such, each project includes a conversation with our Equity & Justice team before launch to set goal, and we continue throughout the campaign with equity audits of projects and collaborative planning and implementation.

Ultimately, we strive to be a company where all staff can show up as their full selves and work to not only change the world, but improve how we show up in the communities we’ve been called upon to serve.

Get Involved!

Here is a list of of some of our favorite Equity & Justice Resources we’ve collected over the years that we’d love to share with the community.

If you have suggestions for other readings we can add to this list, specific Equity & Justice tools (books, facilitators, consultants, trainings), or you have feedback for us on how we can improve our Equity & Justice practices, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Contact Us
